Port Notes
The app uses port 52080 as its service port by default. Before the first launch, make sure the port is free:
Windows (Command Prompt)
netstat -ano | findstr :52080macOS / Linux (Terminal)
lsof -i :52080If the port is occupied, close the process using it and start the app again. You can also change the service port in Settings → HTTP API — a restart is required for it to take effect.
Before installing, make sure your OS is up to date and temporarily disable any security software that may conflict.
Install on Windows
Steps
- 1
Download the installer
Get the Windows installer (.exe) from the Download page.
- 2
Run the installer
Double-click the downloaded .exe to start the setup wizard.
- 3
Follow the wizard
Choose an install directory, click Next and wait for the installation to finish.
- 4
Launch UTranDub
A desktop shortcut is created automatically — double-click it to launch the app.
Unsigned software warning
To keep distribution costs low and the software free, we have not purchased a commercial code-signing certificate yet. Windows may therefore show the following security prompts:
- SmartScreen: when the blue "Windows protected your PC" dialog appears, click More info, then click Run anyway.
- User Account Control (UAC): when asked "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", click Yes.
- Antivirus false positives: some antivirus tools may flag the app. Add UTranDub to the trusted list or whitelist.
On first launch you may need to allow firewall access — click Allow so the app can work properly.
Install on macOS
Steps
- 1
Download the installer
Get the macOS installer (.dmg) from the Download page.
- 2
Open the DMG
Double-click the .dmg file to mount the disk image.
- 3
Drag to Applications
Drag the UTranDub icon into the Applications folder.
- 4
First launch
Find UTranDub in Applications, right-click it and choose Open (the first launch requires a security confirmation).
Unsigned software warning
To keep distribution costs low and the software free, the app is not notarized by Apple yet. macOS Gatekeeper will block the first launch — use one of the following methods:
- Method 1 (recommended): in Applications, hold Control and click the UTranDub icon, choose Open, then click Open again in the dialog. You only need to do this once; afterwards you can launch it normally.
- Method 2: go to System Settings → Privacy & Security. At the bottom of the Security section you will see a message about the blocked UTranDub app — click Open Anyway.
Install on Linux
Steps
- 1
Download the AppImage
Get the Linux package (.AppImage) from the Download page.
- 2
Make it executable
Right-click the file → Properties → Permissions and enable "Allow executing file as program", or run the following command in a terminal:
chmod +x UTranDub-*.appImage - 3
Run the app
Double-click UTranDub-*.appImage to launch it. To run it from a terminal, use a non-root user and run:
./UTranDub-*.appImage --no-sandbox
Note: some Linux distributions need the FUSE library to run AppImages. If you run into problems, run sudo apt install libfuse2 (Ubuntu / Debian) or sudo yum install fuse (CentOS).
FAQ
Which operating systems are supported?
UTranDub supports Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit), macOS 12+, and major Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian and CentOS.
What if the app will not start after installation?
Check that your device meets the system requirements and that the OS is up to date. On Windows, check the firewall settings; on macOS, make sure the app is allowed in Privacy & Security.
What if the port is already in use?
Run netstat -ano | findstr :52080 (Windows) or lsof -i :52080 (macOS / Linux) to find and close the process using the port, then restart the app. You can also change the port in Settings → HTTP API — a restart is required.
Why do I get a permission error running the AppImage on Linux?
Make sure the file is executable (chmod +x your-file.appImage). When running from a terminal, use a non-root user and add the --no-sandbox flag. If you see a FUSE error, install the libfuse2 library.
